Debating on whether to buy a Zaskar frame and build it up or just buy a Lobby off the peg?

Every review of the Merlin Rock Lobsters, or Malts, for that matter, is a good one. Excellent frames and Merlins are pretty much top VFM and spec aimed at the British market and conditions.

Full XT is spot on and I would have no problem buying Menjas.

Personally I would sway toward the 853 steel frame RL, as it would be slightly more forgiving on the roughh stuff with only a small weight penalty.

see what i'm thinking is by the time ive bought an 07 zaskar frame, forks, crank and headset im looking at virtually 600 notes. for 400 more i can get merlin build wheels, a full xt group and all the other bits and bobs.

i can then shift some stuff onto the zaskar (wheels, 9 speed sram x9 stuff etc) and flog the bits left over and i'll have made the deficit back.

œ1000 on a hardtail is a very tricky price point.

so far im thinking zaskar pro with xt œ999
rock lobster team tig with xt œ925
possibly some kind of orange ht at a similar price

too many options!
