hiya guys/galls,
i've currently got my bike for sale on ebay.
i was told by the bike shop (where the bike was bought from) that the frame is a 2005 model haro escape with hydro formed top tube.
i've had a look on the haro website and all the escape bikes have a different shaped to the one i have.
here's my bike -

http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/8108/haro2gc2.jpg
somebody just asked me a question on ebay to name the exact model of the frame (ie. 8.1, 8.2, 8.3). i cant find a match on the web or the haro website. i've checked back to 2003 (the farest you can go) on the haro website.
The frame is definately Haro as the shop it was bought from is a Haro stockist in Leeds.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Warren

better pics of the frame would be better than pics of the bike. pics of the head tube and the dropouts could be good.
i would be going back to the shop and getting some authentification.

TBHi dont think it is a haro as the hydro formed tube is a standard Kinesis tube and can be found on the Avanti "hot dog" and the probike "square" as well as the On-one "Howler" iirc. or was that growler?
i also seen to remember someone trying to sell this befor and having probs, cant say it was a haro that time.

well im actually unsure whether it is actually an escape frame.
heres a pic of the 2005 escape 8.2 (from the haro website)
http://www.harobikes.com/2005/mtb/bikes ... ape_82.jpg
it has kinda like a triangular design just below the seatpost (this is consitent with all the escape models). its hwere the tubes kinda like cross through each other.
on my frame it doesnt have this triangular design below the seatpost
its quite easy to spot

like i said above i dont think it is a haro.

hi mate, yeah ive tried to sell it on ebay before but it didnt reach the reserve price. my friend bought it from a shop called bikes and bits in cross gates leeds. they wrote the name of the frame down on one of there business post card things and im holding it in my hand now.
looks like im gonna have to phone em up tomorrow.
well there crap to be honest and ive had run ins with the manager about other things to do with the bike.
the service i received and the technical support was very poor.
when my friend bought the bike he was told that they custom built it from parts in the shop.
maybe they've got muddled up about the frame?
anyway i'll let you know how i get on.
if anybody is certain of the frame model then please post it up.
cheers0 -
right its not wet outside so ive brought it in and taken some pics.

there is a stamp on the underside of the crank area. the code is SW0400834. this is probably just the security stamp though. if anyone knows any different though please let me know.

Yowsers!! I think you're Cassette needs a clean [;)]
Very interesting frame though. The number should be a serial number for the Frame. I'm sure it can help in finding out what frame it is. I suppose you could do with knowing the manufacturer though.....

i would be suprised if it was a Haro. the rear dropout are nice an detailed which should give a clue.
as will the frame number.

update -
ive phoned up both moor large and the bike shop this afternoon.
they have confirmed that it is not a haro frame
they are saying it is an unbranded frame and has a retail price of œ150 - œ199
but the bike shop is tellng me that the frame is high quality and is from the same factory as the Haro and Schwinn brands.
BTW thanks for all your advice.
im a bit angry about this as the bike shop who sold the bike told my friend it had a haro escape frame. they actually wrote it down for him on one of their post cards (which i have kept).
One of the reasons i bought it was because it could probably hold some of its value.
can you guys please read through my auction and reccomend what would be a good selling price for the bike. (bearing in mind there is damage to the suspension forks, all this is contained in the listing).

many kind regards0
