DMR V8 or V12 - or others ?
my pedals are buggered already, ive regreased them but i dont want to have to keep doing that all the time
i dont want clip in pedals or anything similar, i just want a good grippy flat pedal
looked at the DMR V8 and V12, but not sure if the V12 is worth the extra
however, i DO wash my bike a lot so im thinking i probably should get the sealed ones
anyone suggest any others ?

Are you sure they are buggered? Clicking rarely means totally buggered!
Anyway, have a look at Wellgo pedals and the MG1. Wellgo make DMR pedal... DMR then charge more!

the ones on my bike spin and work fine, no play, but i cant cope with the click they have got after a few weeks use
and as i wash a lot the bearings were full of rusty grease already, cant be doing with that, i want something sealed

I got my Wellgo Mg1s for 21 quid. They are 160g lighter than the V12 with the magnesium body, and use the same bearings!

I have some Shimano MX30's. Great, and just refuse to let go of my feet! Finish off the look of my bike a treat too.
Only a hefty collision with a rock managed to remove two pins, which I wasn't surprised at. You can get replacement pins though, for 3.99. Sorted.

V8's are great value, just sometimes need a bit of ajustment. I really like the look of the odyssey pedals, and I know from BMXing that they are well made. With my wellgo v8's I found that the pins wore down very fast, and they were non replaceable.

There are more than one Wellgo V8 copy. the non replaceable pin one is to be avoided. The replacable pin was is basically the same pedal.

think ill get the V12's, didnt want to spend that much on some pedals but looks like im gonna have to, bit dubious of the wellgo as thats what the bike came with and they havent lasted very long (yes i know wellgo make dmr pedals)

DMR V12's have served me well for this last year, they still look pretty much new (minus a little paint)and they have seen some serious mileage andf punishment. Only thing I would say is they bloody hurt when you slip, My shins are just covered in pot holes, mind you the shoe/pedal grip is bloody good so it doesn't happen to often.0

I've got the same MG1's as Sonic (although I got mine first [;)]) and they're brilliant, cheap as anything on Ebay, really lightweight, really grippy...

I've had my DMR V8's for a couple of weeks now. Absolutely great!
I'd come from clipless and hardly notice the difference when hammering trails (only that I have the confidence that comes from knowing I can bang out at any opportunity if all goes horribly wrong).
I went for the khaki green ones which look sweet on the khaki and black XTC SX. I've noticed slight paint wear but it's a pedal, you stand on it and ride. Job done.
If you wash your bike regularly like me, then the V8's are fine - just wash as normal and spray a bit of GT85 as you would on most other components to dispel the water.
