Before I do a massive search ont net, can anyone tell me where I might be able to get a front and rear set with discs & cass fitted for a decent price?
Or is it cheaper building them myself?

Building yourself is never cheaper! Have a look on Merlin for great offers. What budget and riding style?

I'll have a look. I don't really have a budget, just so long as it doesn't cost the same as a bike. What i'm thinking of doing is keeping a set for road use only, so I can swap them over without hassle of changing tyres all the time.

Sometimes swapping the wheels over is more hassle than swapping tyres! May have to readjust gears and brakes (though you can use rotor spacers to make them the same) and ideally swap the cassette.

I meant fitting discs and cassette, not sure about making a wheel from scratch.

Ah! Good question GF. Sometimes you can get wheel 'kits' on merlin with cassettes and sometimes rotors (and tyres) but the cassettes are cheap enough anyway.
