Very bright, bit too narrow with the beam but perfectly ok. Just me being fussy! No cables to dangle anywhere as its a fully self contained unit as well.....
Well worth it, and with a VERY BRIGHT flash mode perfect in town traffic as well as the unlit stuff.
Pics in my sig somewhere......

I find it nearly impossible to compare LEDs to Halogens to HIDs. However, from what I understand a 50watt halogen bulb is normally about 1000 lumen's. Therefore, it's reasonable (but perhaps incorrect) to assume the Smart Hid would be about 600lm. Which would make it twice as bright as the Hope Led.0

LEDs just cannot get the brightness of HID at the moment.
Roughly for a given brightness.
1W HID = 1.5-2W LED = 4W halogen

Bright Luxeons by all accounts, they won some mag reviews recently. Wiggle had them for a lot less recently but only have the single light versions now. You can still find them for œ150 online though.

If wiggle still had them for œ125 I'd be ordering them right now.

I've got a set of Hope LEDs, and they're ace. I can recommend them for their weight, ease of setup, build quality, and beam.
Setup is a piece of pants, just replace the front plate of your Hope stem and screw them in. Keep the bolt semi-loose to allow for adjustment, then you'll never need to touch them.
Battery life is good, maybe 1hr 45 of full beam but a hell of a lot more if you switch down to medium, low or flashing at any point in your ride.0 -
