Buying a bike in the spring

After all the trouble getting hold of parts for my new frame.I have come to the conclusion that the bike industry is a bit like the housing market. Everyone sells and buys in the spring after laying dormant for the winter. Its like gardeners all buying a new hose or a lawn mower. Consequently all us people looking to spruce the bike up or have some more inspiration to get out and ride once the crack of a sparrows fart is heard, seem to find bike parts resembling rocking horse shiete...

Any similar experiences??? What have you found hard to get hold of in the bling or not so bling department?

All the parts i use are easy to get maybe beacuse they are crap [;)] i bought my new biek juts now and it was fine to get all the parts.

went into lbs last week and they said something wierd is going on this year as a lot of stock is only just coming in and new models are out soon,thats both on parts and bikes,i think there will be a lot of bargains to be had later in the year

XTR shifters and formula brakes for me. Eventually got the shifters by buying from another bike shop. The NWMTB centre but had to pay full RRP

I got my shifters from liesure lakes for 90 quid after my lbs said they would not be able to get them until mid july, and i couldn't wait that long, turns out that i have to wait untill the end of july until my frame comes, i ordered it mid may and they said it would be a couple of weeks
