I'm having trouble adjusting the CPS/trialign whatchamacallit
I pump the lever several times and hold it, then tighten the bolts up, but it still rubs
Should i be tightening one bolt before the other for example?!
many Thanks
Dave

a bit of grease won't go amiss i feel, normally with hayes (not avid which is a similar system) i loosely tighten the bolts and tap them straight onto the rotor alignment.
suspect you could do the same..

When I did my Avid 2007's I used a cable tie to hold the lever tight, very tight, greased the bolts a little so they moved freely and nipped them up.
Worked a treat for me.

slacken the bolts so you can move the caliper by hand. apply the brake so it is just on. but you can push the bike. now with the brake just applied push the bike for one wheel reverlotion and then tighten the brake. repeate untill happy.

Followed your advice for my Juicy 5`s guys. worked a treat. Brakes no longer on constantly (a great help uphill !). Thanks as ever.

My front and rear avid 5's strted to rub a week ago. How embarrassed did I feel when I didn't investigate the problem, took the bike to the shop for a front-wheel truing and mentioned it to the very knowledgable man, only for him to point out a lack of shims and loose bolts on the front?
He even made me repair it myself, for being such a plonker. Oh dear
As a bonus, I figured out how to correctly align my brakes and I now have perfect braking action front and rear. Weird how I had perfect action without shims on the front when the bike was new though.0
