Help with choosing a ~œ500 bike for a big lad

Hello, sorry to start another one of those threads, but I've searched through a variety of websites and forums and have narrowed down a list of bikes I like the look of. I'm 6ft4 and about 20 stones and want to get a bike and get fitter. Having easy access to the Lake District I'll probably want to do a bit of off-road riding (might try the North Face Trail) and will likely crash a few times and don't want too destroy the bike. I've narrowed it down to the following
Cape Wrath D27
Carrera Fury
GT Aggressor XC1 or
Merlin Malt 1 - ltd ed (and pedals)if it is a lot better than the others.
I'll be having a look in bike shops at the weekend.
At the moment I'm leaning towards the Cape Wrath but wanted some advice on which would be the sturdiest/strongest frame and would be the best value.
Thanks.

A common question, but this has a slight twist. I would normally say carerra fury, but the light thin frmae may be too flaxy under your weight. I'd be utting the GT at the top of my list - its a solid frame, with some solid parts. Trying is essential.
