My mate is interested in getting into mtbing. He been offered a shot of a proflex bike, to get him started.
I've never heard of this make, what are they like? Any good?

Depends which one. Generally no, if full suss. They had more sideways travel than vertical.

Some guy came into a shop I worked in once, with a mint condition one with a flexstem. He wanted forks AND the flex stem!
