Odd recurring puncture problem
I am usually pretty fortunate with not getting inconvenient punctures, but within the last 4 weeks i have had 4 punctures.
Oddly they have all occurred on the inside part of the innertube and on all these occasions it has not been whilst I have been riding, and even up to the point where I have put my bike away the tyres have been fine!
The problem has been when I have gone back to my bike after a day or so, i have gone back to a flat! They have also not been slow punctures, but splits in the tube where the air gushes out on inflating.
Needless to say I am confused!!!
The only thing I can think of is that the rim tape maybe pinching the tube at some point whist at a standstill, but this is hard to comprehend!
If anyone could shed some light on the problem I would be most grateful.
Cheers
Justin

4 Punctures in 4 weeks isn't that bad.
My advise would be to take the wheel off the bike.
Take the Tyre off and check the inside of the tyre througly.
Then look remove your rim tape , Check the inside of the rim for any sharp burrs of digs. Smooth off if you find any.
Fit the new rim tape , I always go for a self adhesive type. Make sure you have fitted the tape evenly. Then re-fit the tube making sure not to twist or pinch the tube as you finish.
Pump up and it should be fine , just spend a little time trying to see what was puncturing your tube.

I had a similar issue. After taking the tyre off I would have a good feel around and couldn't feel anything so on the inner tube went and off I went. After about four flats I took the tyre off at home, turned it inside out and went around it with a fine toothcomb. I found a small slither of glass that you couldn't see or feel unless you twisted the tyre. My guess was that once inflated the glass pushed into the tube and slowly let the air out. Had no problems since.

cheers for the replies
After having fixed the puncture again it seems, as knighty suggests, that it is the combination of the new mavic wheels i have put on and the cheap plastic rim tape that came with them...new tape is the way to go i think!0 -
Definatley the rim tape Just !
