Well I've just bought a new bike.

It's an 05 Enduro expert frame with 06 swing arm and Fox DHx air shock. I'm impatiently waiting on the following parts arriving so I can build it up:

RS Lyrick Coil U-turn 115-160 forks, FSA Pig DH headset, 40mm Hussefeld stem, EA 70 31.8 mid riser bar, SRAM X9 shifter and rear mech, LX front mech, Magura Louise FR brakes with Goodridge hoses, Hone chainset with 34/22 setup and orange E-13 bash ring, Shimano 424 pedals (until I can find and service my old DXs), Magura branded DT Swiss 440 hubs with DT 5.1 rims, Enduro 2.3 tyres (for Scotland and Maxis HR 2.5/2.3 for the Alps), WTB Rcket V saddle and still to decide on whether I'll just one of my Thomson Elites or my Speedball or get a Titec Pyro Scooper post.

It should be just perfect for all the canal paths near my house.

Aye. It isn't a climbing machine, that's for sure.

Lyriks are just crazy. I was riding SLW's SX trail which has them on last night and you can go over anthing you fancy without feeling it. They're not the lightest though!

Question is, are you gonna get some pads and a full facer when using it in the alps, or are you going to opt for your usual body armour option of wearing long sleeves? ;-)

Body armour is over-rated. Knee and elbow pads wouldn't have stopped me breaking my bloody wrist on sunday!! [:(]

I've just ordered a set of 661 Kyle Strait knee pads. I might also invest in a set of elbow/forearm pads. Although I agree with Derek's post in that there are limitations with armour and it's always better to ride within your capabilities than rely on padding to save you.

I sooo can't wait to get it built up. Hopefully I'll have all the stuff and get it built in time for next weekend.

Yes. Fell on the Terrible Twins at Dalbeattie on sunday. Got it checked over on monday after it swelled up to impressive proportions overnight and they "suspect" a fracture, so have got a splint and am to go back a week tomorrow to get it re-X-rayed. [:(]

You're absolutely right. I have done things on it I'd never have even attempted on my old HT. Thing was, I cleaned the chute at McMoab the day before (see pic in my sig!), I cleaned the Slab at Dalbeattie and have now crashed both times I've attempted the Twins. Maybe I should learn something from that........[B)][xx(][;)][:I]

The scabs are only now just falling off. Hence why I too am waiting on my delivery of some 661 knees.
