Fitting new forks

Hi guys,

I will be fitting some new forks to my XC frame next weekend and wanted some advice on what I have to do. I already have a headset installed on the frame so I guess all I really need to do is :

1. Remove the crown race from the old forks (using a persuader and a flatty?)
2. Install it on to the new forks (can this be done via the same method? Also I won't need to do any cutting to the fork crown right?)
3. Assemble the front end ie, forks, spacers and stem then mark where to cut the steerer tube.
4. Double check step 3.
5. Cut the steerer tube 3mm below the marked line.
6. Install the star fangled nut (is it a good idea to get the proper tool to install it evenly??).
7. Grease the steerer tube where it contacts the headset surfaces.

Is there anything that I have missed?? Or do you have any recommendations which might make things a bit easier??

Thanks.
