Ramblers ...

On my local loop today, I came across some ramblers/walkers, on a bridleway.

We greeted each other, and to my surprise, they asked me why I didn't jump the log that the council had placed across the trail (to deter motorbikes). I gave my excuses (heavy bike, no skill, coward etc) and one of them says "Oh, we are going to do some maintaincnce here soon" (it's a nature reserve I think)" We'll build you a little ramp so you can jump it"

I thought they were joking, but it turns out they are actually going to do it!

And you thought this post was going to be a rant ;-)

I was expecting a rant, but won't that ramp encourage motorbikes to jump the log?

Only 10" diameter maybe a bit more in places.

Walkers are usually sound. Today 2 friends and i pushed the bikes up Ben A'an at lunchtime, and Ben Lomond late in the afternoon. These are fairly busy hills by scottish standards and i was a bit worried we would upset someone. Every single walker was cheery and while they clearly thought we were barmy, offered words of encouragement.

If you give them a friendly hello and avoid bombing DH at them its all good
