Dripping bite valve

The bite valve from my hydration pack drips constantly leaving me with a big wet patch on my right leg all the time. Blowing air into it after drinking usually stops it but water has still got through a few times, and you can end up coming home with a pack fat with air.

The bladder is made by Source. Anything I can do to stop this or should I try fitting another bite valve?

I'd change it myself, the Camelbak I have has never dripped. I seem to remember you can get them as spares...

To get the same as I have, it gives you a valve so it wont leak in the car on the way

My camelbak leaks a bit unless you lock it, I usually end up having a wet patch on my shorts...and thats before the scary downhill![;)]

Yup camelbaks are alot better. Though they don't come with a valve so you need to buy one extra.

I had a dripping 'bite valve' as you put it once, my advice is get down the std clinic quick as, worked for me. Thats the last time i go to Thailand.[:D]

They only coem with the big bite vlave. You have to buy this bit extra.

my cammelback cloud walker came with a hydro lock platypuses dont come with locks though.

Yeh they do. You only don't get one if you buy the bladder only.

Ahh I see! I find the big bite valves weak, bought 3 in less than a year! œ15!

I see the problem now - tiny hole at the bottom of the bite valve.

So I'll replace it with something. Who makes the best valves in your opinion?

Tbh I cant tell the difference between my Camelbak one and my Dakine one.
Obviously they feel a bit different, but they both stop the water when locked, and let water out when its unlocked [:)]
