  • I have the one for airbeds, it's a bit fragile. I've rebuilt it twice because the return spring mechanism is a big rubber band that came off.
    I don't think I would rely on one for pumping tyres.

  • Boris a lot of pulls to fill an air bed! the spec recons 20 pulls to 30psi i have had 2 punctures in a year of riding so it could last me years??? thanks for the feedback mate

    I bought one of these when they first came out. Seemed like a good idea.

    However, you need quite a few 'strokes'/pulls to fill a MTB tyre to pressure. I think they're more suited to narrow/low-volume road tyres.
    And the pull cord started to fray after a short while.
    In fact I got so fed up with it I gave it away to a roadie!

    Just carry a Blackburn Mammoth now, which is easy to use and reliable. And track pump at home (which has a gauge). TBH (as I am lazy) I just pump the tyres until they feel hard enough.
