Maxxis Maxlite tyres...

At a smidge over 300g per tyre, I'm wondering just how good they are with regards to strength? Assume there's not much rubber there and possibly less puncture/tear resistant.

Anyone running them care to give an opinion? I'm considering a set of them, or similar, to go with some continental supersonic tubes which are 100g a piece!

Nope. Just was looking at the thread about light bikes and the lightest seemed to use Maxlites. However, I cannot find them anywhere - well, there's one on ebay second hand, and thats œ50!

Perhaps something a little more all-round would be better. I'm just looking for alternatives to nobby nic / racing ralph (but thats what i'll end up with from that german dude).

hi yeah i heard about them . lightest mtb tyre ..but you'll probably find a puncture every mile on city roads. or even thawns from bushes ...stuff like that.

wish i could use em ...but round my cycling routes i need the kevlar puncture protection.
