Which baggy shorts?

I am going to get myself a pair of shorts from wiggle this weekend, and after being dissuaded from getting the Endura Zymes by Fozzy, i am now torn between the Endura Singletracks, Endura Humvees" and the DHB Coolhams. So if anyone can give their personal experience with any of the abopve that would be great, especially in relation to the sizing of the singletracks as i have heard your better off going a size down?

I like my hummvees. Very lightweight (/thin and not weatherproof) and lot's of pockets [:D]

As regards sizing I think the hummvee does exactly what it says on the tin - I have an XL pair which do indeed have a waist of 34" to 36" and is just baggy enough for my freakishly massive thighs.

I don't use the liner though. Without expereince of the others I suppose the question of hummvee vs singletrack comes down partly to whether you really want a liner, as one is not supplied with the singletrack (but can be used, if you have a liner). Singletrack looks a bit tougher and perhaps better for wet winter riding.

TBH I can't see how the dhb pair can be justified for œ60 - they're only shorts! œ40 is steep enough.

I would say the Endura Humvees as they come with a liner and are really well tried and tested. Though the single tracks would be good if you already got soem good padded shorts.

Humvees for me too. I ripped the gusset out of a pair last week and have already had them re-stiched as I love em to bits. Strangely I'm not that keen on the trousers though, I find them a bit short in the leg

Good bib shorts underneath Singletracks is a great combo.

If you only want to wear a liner, go for Humvees (Singletracks are harder wearing though).

If money is no object, buy the Swobo baggies. They are excellent and i wear them just with the liner, despite being a bib short man. The pad is almost as good as Assos.

By the way, the Singletracks do come in quite big.

I have both Humvees and Singletracks.
Of the two I much prefer the fit of the Singletracks. Even with my "thunder thighs" I find the humvees tooo baggy (looks like I'm wearing a skirt[:I][:X][;)]). And TBH I don't really use all those pockets.
And the Singletracks are water-resistant/proof. So, even with all this rain, you don't get a wet/soggy bottom!
The liner that comes with the humvees is okay, but not as good as using some 'cheap' padded lycra shorts, such as the 8-panel dhb ones from wiggle.

Buy some padded boxers and a nice looking pair of 3/4 length shorts! I wear padded lycra under 3/4 and it means I a: pay less and b: get to wear what the heck I want. Nice pair of green camo combats and a nice pair of faded denim combats (both 3/4 length) goes with just about any top I want to ride in, and still have plenty of pockets

my faves - the ones i almost always seem to wear above all the rest

Kona Psuedopods - made of a strange stretchy material which is super comfy. They come just below the knee (when riding), don't suffer sweat build-up, you can wear anything you like underneath them... and not too expensive!

I like my humvees, but still prefer padded lycra under something more fashionable. Yes I'm a tart, but so what?

Hmm, food for thought right here. Like someone said above i find it hard for wiggle to justify the œ60 price tag on the DHBs. I already have plenty of padded lycra shorts (thanks aldi!), so i guess the singletracks maybe the ones i go for. But saying that, guilliano, who sells decent 3/4 shorts which if they get wet don't weigh a tonne yet still look ok?

My humvees are a tad small, and even worse with the liner in.... But my Zyme's are ace. I wear them all the time.

Fox Sargent are meant to be great shorts too.

Singletracks get my vote over the Humvee's. I love mine and with good old British weather being what it is, they are just about the perfect short.

I own a Pair of Humvee's - the 100% nylon material is too thick and heavy for summer use. It does not wick. Soon as you start to sweat they stop sliding easily over the top of your thigh and feel uncomfortable

Give me my Decathlon RR5 shorts any day. œ8.95 which means I could get four pairs and still have change.

Well i ended up getting some singletracks in the end. I got the shorts, a sombrio fleece and the dhb triple glasses all for œ53 after various discounts and being referred there.....not to bad seeing as the shorts by themselves are œ40[:D]
