Just got a set of cycle carriers for the roof bars (from ebay) - don't work with my i-drive (2007). Anyone any experience with these bikes, will any of the halfords ones work (currently on offer 2 for about œ50).

I take it the bar that comes up to support the down tube is too short?
A colleague of mine at work has built a 20" wheel to put on which drops the bike low enough.

Both my I-drives are the early models but my roof rack cycle carriers mount the bikes upside down at the seat and bars. You usually only see road bikes like this but instead of clamping the bars next to the stem(as most roadies seem to) I spread the carrier out so the clamps are around the grips, been using them for 8 years with no problems, mine are branded Paddy Hopkirk, I paid œ10 each in a sale at one of the LBS.
