Stump Expert 18"

I have just been offered a Stumpy Expert 2007 for œ1000! off a friend who now wants full suss. The problem is that I have ridden a 17" version and that is fine with no clearance problems, will the 18" give me any problems. I can't ride the bike to test as he is away and wants an answer on the bike or he will sell it up North where he is. The bike is brand new!

    The 18 does look a fair bit bigger with extra 11mm standover height and about 15mm longer reach.
    Go to Specialized site and checkout the geometery for the bikes.

    Great looking bike though.[;)]

    Done that and the geometry is quite different although the experience I have had is of a 19" rockhopper comp and a 17" stumpy. The rock is overall a bigger bike and was too big, the 17" stumpy was great but getting one at a price I can afford is a problem. Everyone says try before you buy but its easier said than done as not many people demo Specialized around my area of Cannock Chase, Great place! and the local mTB shops cant get Spec bikes anyway now as stock is sold out in the country, other than the big shops such as Evans and Winstanleys who are asking too much!!!
