Advice on retro road bike bits!
My mate has just donated me an old 531 ST steel roadie training frame which needs a bit of attention.I need to source a 700c rear wheel,700 x 25-28c tyre,a 7 speed freewheel, and a few minor bits, like a longer quill stem to get it back on the road.
Any suggestions as to good on line shops where I can source cheap old school roadie bike bits?
I`m building it up as a commuting bike.

Ebay, sjs cycles and the classifieds over on C+ are your best bet, and TDF's have been raced on 531, it's a classic.

What is the bike? How old is it? Are you sure it is 700c and not 27"?
Are you tring to build it up as a functional bike or keep it 'original'?

Its a bit of a mongrel,is what it is!
The frame is a Technisport 531 ST fast road/traing frame, with steep 74o geometry, circa 1990.Has flat carbon bars on a quill stem, with Campag Olympus twist grip shifters,Campag Centaur levers with side pull brakes and mechs, and Shimano 600 chainset, but cheapo 700c x 28c hybrid/touring wheels with a 7 speed freewheel.
It needs a bit of tlc, back wheel has lost 3 spokes, rear brake needs a cable, a back tyre, and a good overhaul but I`m intending to use it mainly as a hack for commuting on,or riding with the kids,so originality is not important.

Update!
My new Commuting to the station steed is ready.
Just spent this luchtime getting it going again.
3 new spokes, some crude wheel truing,a new inner tube and a rear brake cable and its back on the road for the sum of ten pounds.
Had a spare pair of 700 x 25c tyres, which are too narrow for the rims really, but it all seems to work!
Anyway,if anyone has a spare 700c wheel,let me know....[;)]
