It's ok, I very rarely wear those shorts now. I've got some longer (I think they're technically 3/4s, but they just cover my knees!) Sombrio ones now.
Just think yourself lucky you've not seen the 3/4 lycra shorts [;)][:D]

And there's nothing wrong with having a long seatpost, provided there's enough in the frame....[8)]
