I've got a set of Berghaus mercury pants that i use for commuting. The vents keep me quite cool when it's lashin it down but still warm. Got mine from work through ARCO think they were œ35.
Prob best with a gore tex jacket for the summer as it's very breathable, but cant really recommend any sorry as i'm too poor to buy one [:(].

I'm looking a jacket, a paclite or similar that will roll/fold up small. Don't really want to spend more than 60 quid.

I got a nike gore-tex packlite for œ60 recently. Been out in the rain a few times with it and it hasn't leaked and it has proved to be quite breathable.

I did have a Montane featherweight one, but that wasn't awfully waterproof so I wouldn't advise one of those, even though they do look nifty.

Double your budget, but if you could find one of these in a deal or off ebay - it'd be money well spent. I find it a great jacket!

But it's for wearing when he's riding his bike, not playing golf... I bet your golf jacket wouldn't be impervious to the rain that's stotting down at the minute!!
