Can you chop and change rotors with yr brakes ie hope rotors with avid juicy brakes etc??

Basically no. There are some that you can do this with, but not all of them. If the brake pad will touch the spider part of the rotor then its a definate no as that will destroy the pads super quick. Hope rotors tend to be narrower than avids so thats a combination that won't work.

I'm not as pessimistic as Seagul on this. I've run all kinds of brake and rotor combinations. However, there's no doubt that it's best to run a disc where the braking surface is the same size or bigger than the pad.

What specifically do you want to do? It might help you get better advice.

do other companies do floating rotors for avid breaks - they look so pimpin' awesome!!!

when ive got my KMC gold chain on the the carbon soled shoes i might be tempted!!!

Hope Moto rotors have a huge braking surface. I'd be amazed if there was any caliper that couldn't use them (unless they're too thick).

whilst were on about rotors, is it possible to run a smaller rotor than what the brake is currently fitted with. basically swap a 200mm for a 180mm rotor (hope mono m4 front).
