I almost died today...

I'm serious, on the way home in the car we were coming up to a roundabout, a huge cement mixer was coming from the opposite direction.

Mum thought it was going straight on, so she carried on but the lorry was clearly indicating. I crapped myself, the lorry was coming directly at us and was gonna cleanly cut off the front of the car

I looked into the lorry drivers eyes and was like sh111111t and there was a white flash and everything went in slow motion, i shouted at mum FCKING WATCH OUT and she accerated and turned the wheel opposite to the lorry.

The car and lorry missed, somehow and we ended up one a grass bank. I thought I was gone, I actually genuinely thought that was it. [:(]

I'm kinda spaced out at the moment [xx(]

Being a passenger with mum is usually a laugh, she's such a bad driver with road rage, its funny hearing her swear/blaming it on the other person all the time

My mum once fell asleep while driving when I was in the car, she veered onto the other side of the road luckily nothing was there at the time but there was soon so I shouted at her and she veered back just in time, never shat myself so much!

The other good thing with 'near misses' is you can swear at your parents and they don't remember/care/mention it. It was a bout ten years ago since I last had the pleasure but as you can tell, it was a joy!

I once nearly had a head on with a Bentley. He was overtaking and in my lane, all I could think was mondeo vs. Bentley @ 140 mph closing = me dead. I was about to take my chance with the field at the side when he slowed and pulled back in behind the car he was overtaking. I went home to change my undies. I think it was the owner of a major hotel around here who was driving the Bentley.

Pah. That's nothing. I nearly killed someone yesterday.

There I was driving my cement mixer without a care in the world, going round a roundabout, when some dozy bint with her goggle eyed son just pulled out in front of me. The kid looked at me so I just gave them an evil stare.

Managed to force them up onto a grass verge though, so that was a bit of a giggle.

Mum got a bit day-dreamy once, didnt realise the car infront of us was stationary (parked on side of road), she thought it was driving along.
Didnt slow or anything (going at least 40mph), heading straight towards it, Dad realised, nothing he could really do, so he grabbed the handbrake up [:D]
Spun round 180*, fortunately nothing directly behind us. Musta looked quite funny from outside, car bombing along, then does a 180 spin in the middle or the road [:D]

Theres something wierd happening this week, I've had loads of near misses. People overtaking coming round corners towards me ( twice, one old guy I swear never even saw me even though I had to slam my brakes on and swerve!), and feeling sleepy. I think its the weather. I was SO sleepy driving to Glentress last night too. Luckily Dave advised me I wouldn't need my waterproof, so I got totally soaked to the skin and so was wide awake all the way home! Thanks Dave!![:D]
Just came across an accident on the way home today too, so its not just me. Funny thing was, I did a quick u turn, and bombed down some wee back roads I usually cycle. Some guy in an Audi was following me. I decided to take a wee detour as I'd often wondered where one certain road went ( really steep climb, always decided against it on the bike)for future bike rides. Guy in Audi followed and I figured he'd just looked at me, decided I was local and knew where I was going!!! Ha Ha! Took him on a wild goose chase through some muddy farms before rejoining the A68. Poor guy![:o)]
