New chain/cassette problems

I have just fitted a new XTR chain and XT cassette to my Anthem. The first ride and the chain is jumping and making loud noises!

The rear mech seems to be indexing okay, but as soon as I put much power on I get the noise and occasional jumping. The front chainrings are a few months old, but are smooth.

I dont care for this. I usually find Shimano drive stuff to be really smooth.

Is this just newness, or could it be faulty kit?

I would try putting some good lube on it and ride it. If that doesn't work take it to your local bike shop and see what they say.

Could be the front rings not taking to the chain, and it jumping over the teeth.
