Bmx crank on a mountain bike?

Is it possible to put a bmx three peice crank on a mountain bike?

Many BMXs have oversized bottom brackets and shells. Some however use reducers for a standard mtb size.

Plenty of good mtb cranks out there!

well i have no experiance putting mountain bike cranks in but find bmx ones easy plus i hear you need certain tools e.t.c

graham obree used a BMX crank on the bike he broke the hour record with.

I've nver tried but I would think they'd be too narrow.

You can get 3 piece cranks with mtb bottom brackets, such as profile racing or gusset pigmys. They are really strong but quite heavy, even with ti axles they weigh more than Saint.. Would be good on a jump bike.
