perp2 vs. black diamond triple

i've been on an old rusty bike for too long now, and i'm looking to buy a new one at roughly œ2000. i'v been looking round and have been stunned by the cannondale perp2 and the mongoose black diamond triple, both 2007. this is for freeide, mainly downhill, but also a bit of up.
any info on parts for price and/or other suggestable bikes would be apreciated.
