    you DO know that the pedal is supposed to be only very slightly forward of the arch anyway?
  • I think alot of people get cheap flats with standard bikes, which are generally rubbish, then decided they don't like them, because they are rubbish, then assume the only way forward is to ride with spds. Some people don't know that different pedal/shoe combos make the biggest difference, some are like being on an ice rink and some are like walking on tar. So if you ride spds, then go to flats, and choose the wrong combo it can put you off for life. But if some Pro Downhillers ride on flats then they can not be "so much worse" then spds

  • I have arthritic toes so I can't have my foot too far back on the pedal anyway otherwise my toes seize up (as proven on Tuesday night's ride).
