Carrera Fury Geometry
The Fury comes with a 85-130 travel Tora 318 ,
my question is the bike or are all bikes really
designed with "Sweet Spot" and how is that affected
if you change travel
I understand maxium travel is great for drops etc
but is there then a price to pay in speed on flats?

maximum travel if designed to track the ground as you travel at speed over it! short travel forks are designed to absorb large quantities of impact in as short distance as posible with a relitivly low rebound rate to avoid "bounce"
he who dares wins!

Cheers Prox
trouble is I have all these adjustments on my reba
and I get information overload, sometimes I wish that
it was computer controled and set itself for me.

We also have to look at how the fork travel affects geometry and handling of the bike. While you can adjust the travel to absorb larger hits better, it may adverselt slow the reactions of the bikes steering. All bikes are designed around a travel where the bike performs optimally for the terrain the bike was meant for. The new fury works best at 120mm for general trail riding, the older one 120. The fork goes from 85-130. At short travel the bike will steer quick. The key is to adjust as you feel fit.

IMO having a 85-130 fork is only useful on... oh wait it's not really useful at all.
