what lbs manchester?
hello all
what with getting slowly but surely fed up with the lack of service, surly atitude and high cost of my local bike shop. im wondering what bike shops you guys in the n/w manchester area use. essentialy im looking for a shop with a competent mechanic with a symaphetic ear who doesnt cost the earth, is this to much to ask?
hope you all had good riding today.

Evans. Leisure Bikes. Merlin. Halfords! Decathlon (very cheap). Theres another on in Stockport but I forget the name.0

hmm i know of evans, halford, and decatlon all of which i wouldnt take my bike to be serviced at. plus im all in favor of keeping the independant shops going by giving them the buisness.
cheers anyway0 -
I use Mike Cookson cycles in Prestwich. Very helpful. Leisure Lakes at Bury seem like they have decent staff although I have never used them for servicing.

There's a new branch of Edinburgh Cycle at Manchester - Well worth a visit.

Avoid NWMTB if you want good customer service, a complete joke, for all my gear I go to decathlon, who have actually just opened up a workshop, other than that its altrincham bike shak

IIRC Bike shak were about œ15 - œ20 cheaper than NWMTB when I had my last full service done, FOR EXACTLY THE SAME WORK.

sorry you must excuse my ignorance, "Andy Kiffin"? is he a pro or summit. ive met the owner andy, a rude balding guy. pulled his face when i asked him to price match crc.0

Andy Kyffin has worked with Steve Peat as his mechanic, so whilst he is obviously talented the shop seems to think you are only worth bothering with if you have a couple of grand in your back pocket.
