Was REALLY fun.

did the freeride area twice, wanted to keep giving it a few goes.

The Red Twrch Trail has a good technical climb and a great decent back to the car park.

Imagine the first 1/2 is mostly technical climbing all the way to the top, once at the top it's a good downhill, we cut off at the top and played on the freeride section for a bit (you need some big balls to go up the wall ride) then rejoined the red trail, the DH course (Cwmdown operate a uplift service) is hard nigh on imposable to find (no obvious marking saying ride up this road to get to the top, i suspect you have to ride up the Twrch Trail to section 7 ish and turn off but the signage was poor)

anyways my bro hates to stop on a ride... only got 2 photos.

Nice pic.

That looks like fun. Quite scary, but fun. Sort of like a bigger version of Glentress freeride.

Yep, nice one Fozzy. That drop off looks like fun.

The amount of times I've been to Glentress and I dont think I have ever really been on the freeride park.

Do you use flat pedals, BTW?

I really must give Cwmcarn another go. A mate and me did a weekend there in 2005 and just didn't enjoy it and not been back there since as a result yet everyone else seems to love it. They must of made lots of improvements because we both thought the decent was a bit lame, maybe we both were just having a bad spell that weekend, it was p***ing down all weekend when we were there which might explain why and I don't think it had been open that long either so the trail wasn't fully developed . Does it still have lots of gate thingys everywhere to stop the motocross boys playing on it? They were really annoying and really ruined the flow. Don't mind having them at the start and end of each section but they were everywhere.

good pics fozzy, i've done all the afan trails but never tried cwmcarn.

How was the Mynydd Mojo downhill track? I've seen some pics and vids of the last section with the big berms and jumps - is the rest like that?

the DH track looks ok some BIG drops (flat to angled leadout) but we couldn't find a nicely signposted way to get to them so we played on the FR section at the top and did the red trail.. we were just stoked playing about on the freeride bit..
