Buckled wheel

Hi all

Noticed last night that there is a slight buckle on my rear wheel. Maybe moves about half a centimetre if that at the point of the buckle.

I can't get it fixed until next Tuesday so will going out on a ride this weekend cause anymore damage to it or should I stay off it?

As long as you be carefull and don't wack it too hard it shoudl be fine. Also make sure it doesn't touch teh frame as that woudl scratch you beautiful frame. I would say either don't use it or go for a gental ride.

Bloody typical too, the wife bought me SRAM X.0 shifters and rear mech which I fitted last night so gonna have to wait now to give em a good try out [:(!]

it depends on many things. is it just a sideway distortion or has it flatened as well (think it will have) it might be ok but you might make it worse or it might collapse on you. you can look at it and make a desision or take it to some one else to fix. or get a new wheel as a stand in.

Dunk - It was my early 30th burpday pressie.

Nick - as much as I would love to buy a new wheel, the Mrs won't let me lol. Gonna wait and get it fixed next week. I don't want to make it any worse than it is.

When i did mine to find teh buckeled piont i taped a pen to teh chain stay with one end near teh wheel spun teh wheel and it stopped where it was buckeled. Works quite well i think. Just don't make your wheel worse [:p] it didn't matter to me as i had 2 other ones [:D]
