Chain Ring Leg

Was out riding on the moors last night and hit a rock with my pedal it bounced my foot out forwards and i stabbed the back of my calf with the chainring very deep and very painfull, looks like i'll be out of action for a week or two i was meant to be doing the GT black on sunday so i am gutted.Has any body else done this

Been there, done that, swore loudly, threw bike in a bush, retrieved bike, swore a bit more & carried on riding (swearing under my breath)

Bombing down hill on crap bike with crap pedals> change gear> chain falls off> foot slips off pedal due to sudden lack of resistance> leg into exposed chainring> flap of flesh about 3.5"x3.5"x0.5" (not exagerating) held on on one side> ditch bike and run home> get skin graft.

Wasnt all that bad though, got 3 weeks off school and now have one funky scar [:)]

man that must have been painfull. Was it a blood everwhere situation? my shin was when i striped it to the bone with the pedal of my bmx [:(]

Actually, I hardly felt anything (not trying to sound tough), I dunno, must have been in slight shock or something. I mean, I looked down and saw a huge flap of skin!
The most painnful bit was probably when the nurse rolled all along the graft with a cotton bud to squeeze out any fluids.

And surprisingly, there wasnt much blood, in about 15 mins one drip of blood got down to my sock.

My sock was red with in a matter of seonds not a nice site to see blood gushing out of your shin [:(]

Used my knee as a brake on gravel...

Yeah, that one bled quite a lot, had to keep on squirting it with water from my water bottle as it just kept flowin, and I had to ride home!

Haha, wen A&E (was REALLY grubby), the guy made me go home and scrub it with a toothbrush in the bath!
Ooo the pain!

I've broke a rib before coming off my bike.
I wasn't doing any more than 4mph, hit some gravel and a kerb at the same time, front wheel went one way, I decided to go another, as you do, in my infornate wisdom. Landed on my right side, still clipped in, all in slow mo, ribs square on the kerb, 2 broken, pride smashed, bugger....
Still finnished my ride though.

I was just shooting over these fairly large gravel piles. Decided to try and get some air, shoot over it and just fall off. Ouch. [:(]
