Cycle luggage for aircraft.

Looking at investing in a cycle bag for transportation on aircraft. The merits of solid over the softer ones are obvious, especially when considering the aircraft loaders attituide to luggage, but has anyone any experience with particular brands or types of solid bags. My LBS doesn't stock them, so seeing one in the flesh and having a good inspection isnt an option. I dont really want to fork out and buy one off the internet without some independant info from people who actually have used one.[^]
