Dear forum,
I know I probably should have house insurnace, but I dont, but now I have a new bike, I reeally need some. I am just about to undertake the search the net approach, and to be honest, I have no idea where to start or what I should be looking for/avoiding/what info to divulge/hold back/... even just a couple of pointers would be a real help. After a previous thread search I found M&S to be recommended?
thank you !

btw that's M&S house insurance - it covers the bikes and actually works out about as cheap as just insuring your bikes (presuming your bikes are fairly expensive). bikeybikey0

Inca are you a student? if yes the first port of call would be the parents and their home insurace.

Ok so you share a flat with common areas and personal areas which are locked? not to different to an appartment in a block. make sure you make the insureance companies aware of the full situation.

Easiest, cheapest one around, from my experience. Just put in postcode and get a quote. Make sure you have an aproved lock as well [;)]. Which bike do you ride inca?

thanks for your help, I share with 3 other people, so just flat with 3 friends. our rooms dont have locks, but the main door does and so does the block, so its in a way more secure than a house, but still its the other people as they could stell from me apparantly. My flatmate defo has insurnace as he has loads of photography kit, so i guess he must be paying for the whole house.. that must be loads!I sublet off him, so maybe i couldn add my bikeon to him? I am so in the dark.
Wolf, thanks for the link, i will check that out. I got the specialized rockhopper 2007disc WSD 2 days ago. Awesome. I went out for 2 and a half hours yesterday. what are you riding at the mo?0 -
The Marin in my signature.
The GT is in the shed waiting for a new home, but it served me well in the past!
Well, I am happy you have embraced MTBing and that you are enjoying it [;)], let's hope the upgrade bug takes some time to bite... I am looking at new wheels and brakes already [:(].

i would have a chat with the Owner of the house first and chat about who he uses and see if you can add your items to his cover or call his insureance about your own policy. But talk to the owner first as it may be that his policy was started before he had lodgers and it may change his current insurance situation.
