From what I've read some people need a size up for spd's. I have quite big feet (11) but I found my shoes to be a good fit for me in their listed size - Specialized Taho.

You probably want to buy online as the prices are so much better. But there really is no substitute or advice that can give you a better idea about what you need than going to a shop and trying them on.
  • I went up a size for Shimano shoes. However,in Specialized shoes I appear to be the same size as my regular shoes,so try before you buy.

I'm the same size in Shimano and Cannondale bike shoes as i am in Nike trainers and Timberland boots. The only way is to try some on. Buying on the net you just can't be certain. Personally I'd always say buy locally when it comes to shoes and helmets, purely so you can try them on for fit and comfort.

  • I have some Specialized BG Sport. Normally a Size 6 but was a size 7 in shop as have a little room to wiggle my toes.

I agree I would strongly recommend trying them on before you buy from your lbs.

Spesh BG Comp MTB Carbon here. Same size as my normal shoes, but are quite a bit tighter as they should be - fit like a glove. You really need to try them on at LBS...I still got mine at a big discount from LBS because they were last year's range [:)]
