Being recommended Mavic xm719s, XC717sor xm321s
dont have the first clue as to what is best here
Am a mainly xc rider but want to be more adventurous....use a blur and weight 160 ibs
What would be most appropraite for this situation

The 1st digit is the spec level, the other 2 are the internal rim width.
So a 7xx rim is better than a 3xx rim.
717's are very good but for something a little stronger maybe a 719?

Andy's right but can I just clarify the bit about being better, 7 series are better material but only "better" if suitable for your use. So for example, if you like trails and a bit of freeride, an EN321 rim will be "better" for you than an XC717.
Also 8 series is not "better" than 7, it usually uses the same materials and processes but 8 series is tubeless.
