Ah well, my own fault............. got a speeding ticket in the post today, A470 Llanrwst just after riding round Penmachno with Serx72 (Matt) More expensive day than I thought[:(]

What speed were you doing?
Have you ever looked into a speed camera detector? I have one called "Inforad", can get it for about œ20 off fleabay plus it doubles up as a GPS when you plug it into a laptop with MS Autoroute installed.

Ouch, I went the other way on the way back....noticed speed camera signs most of the way down that road but didn't actually notice any camera's.

Watch it doesn't get you again Tomorrow!!! double ouch....

The Penmachno was excellent, the 2nd half of it especially (well apart from the bit where I stacked [:D]) , will be going back there for sure..

38 in a 30 limit, not had a ticket for over 15 years (god that made me feel old...[:(]) My own fault as said, just have to be more careful in future. Hmmm, off to register with <s>Safespeed</s> idiots who drive like me apparently. Oh the infamy!![;)]

I got had by a camera I go pass every day [:I] ,was having a bit of road rage at this stupid woman and forgot about the camera .....ooops, guess she had the last laugh then, I did get in front of her though even though it cost me œ60 and 3 points[}:)]

Have the fine still to pay, have about 12 days left to pay I think...

Yep, always had a giggle at people getting caught by the camera not far from where I live. Words like shoe, other and foot are springing to mind....

Bad Luck ratty. You need cruise control, I have it and it does save you worrying about your speed.

This is one of the negative points to moving back down to that area if I accept my offer and change jobs. Speed cameras are everywhere, especially in Cheshire and North Wales.

Other negative points are lack of North Yorks Moors on doorstep. But on the brightside i'll be able to watch the Saints hammer the Pie Eaters (and the wire)

They won't send the piccy unless you want to contest in court,thats what they told me anyway.
I bought a detector after my first gatso catastrophy and have not been caught since,it has saved me many times.
I also have a speed limiter on my Renault which I find really good through roadworks etc.

Hmmm, might have to look into one of those techy, camera thingies then!

edit: Any recommendations?? and whats the legality of them? I seem to remember you can own one, but can't use it?

the road from llanwrst to llandudo is always full of police sat in hedges so you cannot see them, we got to my mums farm down there and you just have to do the speed limit because it is a wild road,

Oh, I fully agree with the limit, just got caught out this time. Guess I'll make sure to stick to the limit next time, Really don't fancy another œ60 fine and 3 points. Was clean till now, [license] ahhh well as the tiltle says Bugger!

Any of the GPS products by Snooper seem to do the job. I think the ones that use radar detection are Illegal to use but the GPS ones are fine.
I use snoopers basic model the S2 which was œ89.00 when I bought it plus œ75.00 for lifetime of updates.

This is the one which I own. It is very good as long as you keep it updated.
