The Skoda Ad!

what do you all think of the ad, i mean its a cake car!!!

I read in the metro today that it took 3 days to make and bake, and then the car cake was put on the compost heap to be recycled!!! what a waste!!! can you imagine halfway round a big trek through wales and that cake is sat there waiting for you with plenty of tea, yum.

Anyway great ad, best ad ive seen in ages!!

Skodas don't have a bad rep.

They're now owned by VW and make cheaper Golfs and Passatts (aka Fabia and Octavia).

I was on holiday last week, so actually got to watch a television, resulting in my surprisingly knowing what you're talking about [:D].

Personally, I like the ad. I usually find advertisements intensely annoying, since I find marketing inherently superficial, but this one is the first time I've seen a car company promoting itself without pandering to personal pride, status or the "need for speed". Admittedly, I'd have preferred if they had been better able to use all that food, but at least composting it meant it wasn't a complete waste.

They have been coming out with good ads for a while, I know two people with a Skoda Octavia and both highly rate them. (EpicJohn on here has one)

Still not a Scooby though is it[:D]

Yup Skoda's are pretty good motors these days, I'd have a VRs if I could afford the insurance!

ok sorry, some skoda's are ok - i was more interested in the ad, just thought it was great, i dont often see an ad and think thats really good, oh except the pc vs mac ones which i think are really funny!!!

yeah good to see something different, most of the adverts on tv irritate me. somebody told me the cream in some of the parts of the car went off in the heat of the studio lights but i dont know if thats true.

ive been in a couple of octavia vrs's and i realy liked them. really fast [:)]

I think I'd rather have an Octavia VRS than a Golf GTI. The performance difference is about a tenth of a second over 0-60 and I could sort that out by taking out all the junk I never use (ie the radio).

Iv got a skoda fabia, great car, had it for 16months and no problems. theres audi badges all over the engine proving its pretty much an expensive car without the pricy badge.

Fits me, a friends, my dog and my bike in easily, along with all our holiday kit.

The Skoda Ad!
