Ok so the headset on my kraken is sounding a little gritty when i steer its not too bad, but i want to give it a service before it starts wearing too badly.
What i want to know is whats the best way of going about this "little" job and are there any potential pit falls i need to look out for?

Do you mean internal or integrated? You need to take the stem off and drop the fork out to get at the bearings. Clean the surfaces, regrease and put back together. Sometimes the cartridge bearings can be prised apart to get at the bearings. If they are shot, you will need new ones: hlafords should be able to order them in.

Internal runs on a shallow cup, integrated runs on the frame. Either way, the porcedure is similar lol. Strip, clean, regrease/replace, put back together. Park Tools has a good article.
