Howdee

With a long summer coming up before Uni, im looking for a job, working as much as possible over a few few week periods over the summer. Ill be living in Coniston (so i can do plenty of riding), so would like a job within the village or within cycling distance.

If any of you fellow forumers own a buisness, or work for a buisness within the area, please could you contact me.

Now to sell myself; Im 18, and am currently on exam leave waiting for my A-level exam. I' taking law, maths and music, and hoping for half decent results to take me to lancaster uni to study accountancy and law. Iv got good experience working behind a pub bar, and working within pub kitchens doing pretty much everything. Iv also worked with shops. I am looking for a pub job, and/or a job within a shop, be it assisstant or general helping around. A job within cycling would ideal, but am looking for any offers for job working as much as possible over the end of june to the middle of september working in 'concentrated' stints. As i will be going on holiday, but will be in Coniston over long weeks/fortnights and looking to work lots in those periods.

FAiling that, any jobs in Northamptonshire?

Yes!! I run a firm that needs people to test bikes a gear to inform a wide consumer base. Essentially you would be required to ride for about 4-5 hours a day, 3 days a week, in between times, we have an informal discussion area where you will talk to other testers about the equipment you tested. The other 2 days a week will involve going out to manufacturers and suppliers to evaluate and select which equipment to bring back in-house for testing.
You will also be required to keep up to date with developments in the MTB world so you will be required to go to most of the major festivals and shows in this country and abroad, therefore you must be prepared to travel, usually to the USA. Does this sound like it might be of interest?

If not, maybe my condom and high-class hooker company might be of more interest. Let me know either way.

Why don't you go out to alps for the summer and work for one of the mtb holiday companies, I wish I had during my time of from uni in the summers, would of got to earn some money and ride some awesome trails in my time off.

Seeing how you want to do accountancy, why not try and contact some accountants for some admin work?? I managed to get a job scanning in old files onto the system a few years ago, soooo boring, but its still money!

dont think there will be many accounts firms in coniston, but if you can travel, there are some in Kendal, which you could apply for some admin work, also would possibly get them to keep you in mind for the future...

Woo, hopefully Im working down in London for 5 weeks, labourer for a friends building company, œ7/hour, 10 hours day, œ70 a day, œ350 a week, œ1650 in 5 weeks, dont think thats too bad for a 16 yr old [:D]

œ350 a week at 16? Wow. I'm sure some of the accountants on here will tell you how to minimise the tax you'll have to pay on that, or perhaps avoid the emergency tax coding, assuming you aren't claiming any other benefits, that should be all tax free.

Be careful in London Duane, lots of those Foreign Johnnies there. A few good and cheap malaysian restaurants there. If even that seems steep, there is always Malaysia Hall, for canteen style malaysian food.

I get 12 weeks holiday and all i seem to have planned is getting my self into debt buy buying new parts [:(] but i do have a job that pays œ50 a day to shoot people at a paint ball site [:D]

Yeah, should be able to claim all the tax back, my brother and cousin (at my age) both worked for the guy and got it all back.

Yeah, pay is pretty sweet, its just a standard labourers wage, gonna be nackerin as anything, but should be good fun/worth it [:)]
