Full Susser œ700

I am looking for a full susser for about 700 my search has pretty much taken me to pauls cycles, I fancy the Kikapu Deluxe (I'd upgrade the brakes mind) Can anyone persuade me in favour of the Gary fisher cake 3 or I-drive or whatever... Gonna get used once a week (If its lucky)for long rides cross country-

Are these reduced prices, as IMHO a full susser under œ1k loses something spec wise and would be weightier.

can you post links to these bikes? I assume that they are reduced bikes. I wouldn't get a bike thats older than 2006, bikes are evolving quickly and anything older will be obsolete soon and you won't be able to get frame spares.

Do you have decent mechanical skills? If you buy online you won't get your free service and other support a local shop provides. You warranty is also with the shop you bought from rather than the manufacturer.

I agree don't go to far back in models, with your budget I would pursonally get a HT

Pauls cycles used to have the Giant Trance with upgraded disks for around œ700. That would be my first choice, if still available.

Its a 2006 Kikapu Deluxe I'm looking at... I've by chance got a decent Marzochhi fork to upgrade to and I think I'll get some xt discs if I get the Kikapu- to replace the Hayes Soles (So really thats œ800) Its the only bike out of the ones I'm looking at that I've ridden -albeit briefly

I was hoping someone had experience of the KIkapu and would just tell me its great (or ****e haha) to help me make my mind up...
