Advice for air forks!

Just been out for my first ride on my new Recon 351 Solo Air and I couldnt help notice that it sounded like I had a flock of seaguls constantly following me (not the band [;)]). Is this just until they "bed in" or is this just how they sound??

Also, I got a sort of thick rubber cylinder with a 20mm diameter and a hollow shaft in the box with the forks. Does anyone know what this is for? Should I be using it???

Oh yeah, The forks are astounding!! I didn't realise how bad my old forks were. Sooooooo Smoooooooooooth! I almost came off too because I got too *****y [;)]

Rock shox always make sounds but my rebas have quitened down abit since i bough them almost 1 year ago. I got teh 20mm rubber thing and and left it in teh box [:D]

They often take a while for the seals and bushings to bed. You can lube the upper seal with a couple of drops of teflon oil. Almost all forks make squelchy noises from the hydraulic damping. The thing sounds like a steerer plug. maybe.
