Just read an article in a road bike mag- they strongly recomend peanut butter sandwiches following a ride- excellent ballance of carbs for energy replacement and protein for muscle repair and growth.

I'd have thought penauts would be a censored to digest on a ride, all that fat and protein. I usually stick to black pudding ;-)

Peanut butter was developed primarily as a high-protein foodstuff. It's a fantastic product which I use semi-regularly to marinade diced chicken with, prior to frying with spices. Stir that into some cooked pasta, perhaps add some pesto (green, yum!) and you have yourself a highly nutritious and tasty meal! Makes the whole house smell like a chinese restaurant though! [:)]

At the moment i'm kinda of in-love with the nutri-grain elevenses raisin bake bar type things, munchin' on one now[:)]

Just thought I would put my 2 cents in ....... I use "Whole Earth" Crunchy Original peanut butter as it has no added sugar and you can also by it in organic form ...... it is really, really nice (mouth is watering just talking about it)

Me thinks it's time for some toast to perfect my spreading technique
