Manitou Axel Elite fork help please

My 2004 Rockhopper is fitted with a Manitou Axel Elite fork. It was advertised when I bought the bike as 100mm fork. However, on measuring the travel accoding to the fork instructions it appears to be set at 80mm. It states it is adjustable but doesn't show you how to do it.
Anyone got same bike or fork and know what to do, you help would be appreciated?

might have been 100mm when new.
bin it and buy a Marz MX or a RS Tora.

are they 05 or 06 forks?
the 05's are 80mm, and the 06 100mm i think.
if they are adjustable, there'll be a dial on the top of one of the legs which you wind in or out depending on what amount of travel you want. bikeybikey0 -

They are 04 mudface. No dial on top of fork legs. They say on instructions here http://www.orangebikes.co.uk/technical/ ... el_eng.pdf that they are 80mm or 100mmbut changeable.

page 3 under 'rapid travel wind down'. that's how mine worked.
if there is no dial, i'd say that they're not adjustable. maybe phone up whoever sold it to you as a 100mm fork? bikeybikey0 -

the forks will make a bigger difference to your riding than brakes.
the brakes will make a bigger difference to your stopping though, although the face also makes a good brake. bikeybikey0
