Hi Guys/Gals,
Am just building up my Large VT frame and noticed that the XT front mech that it came with is top pull only and I cannot see how that works on this frame?
Am I missing something or do I need a bottom pull mech?
Cheers,
Gary

You need a bottom pull (or dual pull) mech. The VT front mech cable runs under the BB like a road bike.

Thanks, MS,
I though that was the case but I was thrown by the top-pull mech that was on it when I bought it!! Must have been the seller's way of trying to confuse me...and it worked.
That is a 34.9mm clamp for the front mech, I assume and a top-swing?
Cheers,
Gary

Yep, if my memory serves me right, it goes on with no shims and a top swing (low bracket) does the job nicely.
