Fork brake mounts
Looking into getting some new brakes (M525's), and I'm a little confused between the different brake mounts. The 525 is a IS Mount and obviously i want to make sure that the brakes will fit the bike.
Does anybody know of a decent article i can have a read of to be able to spot what each mount is?
Cheers [:)]

What forks do you have?
Most are IS, a few are PM.

I think those forks are IS mount, a mate has some RST's on his Hardrock.
You do know that you will need new wheels too, a the ones as STD on the bike aren't disc compatible [;)]

They are disc compatable, I have discs on it at the moment.
Can you tell me the difference between IS mount and Post mount please?
Tried googling pictures but came to nothing in the end.

The M525 is compatible with both. If you're buying new the caliper should come with an adapter:
- without the adapter the M525 caliper fits to post mounts.
- with the adapter the M525 caliper fits to IS mounts.

Cheers, I do love my bike and I know a new fork and new brakes will improve it endlessly.
I was pricing some shifters up before. Might go for Deore, but can't seem to find a 8spd deore shifter on CRC. Are there any about?

You could get Sram Attack 8spd shifters, they're Shimano compatible (Sram Rocket shifters are too)
