remove vat from bike sales
Can you please sign the following petition to get VAT removed from bicycles. The car petition has seemed to work really well so someone enterprising soul has thought he would try and do his bit for the green transport side of things.
Can you also pass it on to anyone else who you think will help.
Many thanks

what was the car petition and what exactly "worked" ?

I signed this ages ago, because lets be honest none of us are going to turn it down, but isn't the argument on the basis that cycling are a more environmentally friendly transport? How many of us actually use their bikes as transport? I know I very rarely do.

Not too sure about you but I feel these online petitions are not taken seriously by Government.
If you are so lazy that you just sit at home and press a few keys rather than protesting in Hyde Park are you not just taking the Gov bashing stand?
(Blood hell got serious for a moment)

Not that many people actually have the time to travel to Hyde Park to make their opinions known, whereas an online petition can be signed at work or at home by a great majority. Just a case of how much notice is taken.
Is there one calling for a general election?

The real protest should be, "Let's set fire to bike theives and vandals."

I posted this a while ago. I'm all for it and it's not just about transport. It's about a healthier way of living. I personally think that anything that promotes a healthier way of living should be VAT free including gym memberships, tennis and squash clubs etc.
