Longer forks than original

Hi All
Currently running 100mm forks dirt jam comps as came with my Hoss. Been offered some 130mm drop offs but I'm not sure how much it will affect the handling.
The forks are a good deal and I want to get them as I hate the dirt jams on my Hoss as they have no small bump detection.
Thoughts?
Cheers,
Rob

BAD BAD BAD. It'll almost certainly REALLY upset the geometry.

Will throw the angles back somewhat, slowing the handling down and making it feel more slugish. That fork can be adjusted internally I think.

yeah, as said above, 130mm will upset the geometry, i think, on most bikes with 100mm stock, the max is usually 115mm ish, for example, next week i am buying some 130 fox vanilla's, but will wait for a new frame before fitting them.
Slightly Off Topic: Does anyone know what the minimum travel for a '06 specialized enduro Frame is? (e.g. will it take 130mm forks?)

I've put longer forks on every mtb i have had, and have always been happy with the results. For me, extra dh ability wins over very slight climbing disadvantages.
I'd get forks bigger than 130mm for an 06 enduro definitely. Probably lyriks, or pikes, or z1 freerides. The 04 was underforked with 125mm TALAS, great with pikes The 06 is much beefier, needs a bigger fork imo.0 -
Probably too late but I've got 150mm forks on a bike designed for 120mm and I love it.

If the frame is in warantee don't do it as it will void the warantee

When MBR first reviewed the '05 Enduro it had a set of 145mm nixons, they said it noticably affected the performance of the bike and gave it a bad mark (can you believe it MBR gave spesh a bad mark). The moral of the storey is that the Enduro needs a 150-160mm fork.
