Anyone else get the Spring BH off? Am having a 'recovery day' today, and the Monaco GP (the only one worth watching) is on, but hope to get out for a few hours on Monday before going back to work.

Where you thinking of? I could come out for a bit but not all day, if you fancied the Eildons?

I was thinking just the same - see, great minds thinking alike or what?!
Think that the weather forecast is better for the morning, too. Less than half an hour away for me, so could be out there for 9.30 or so.

Takes me longer to get to your house, and the Eildons are the other way!

We'll make it ten then - maybe I'm thinking of Lauder!
No problem; text me your postcode so I can look your mansion up on the map.

Compared to your house Andy, my house is like one of those derelict cattle shelters you see in the corners of fields!![:o)]

When I said 'mansion' I really meant 'country cottage in a beautiful Borders village' - far more interesting than a six year newly built house in a village development..!

Just discovered MY local trails, thanks to Andy. Great morning just riding round in the Eildons, despite my attack of leg failure towards the end and the painful hailstorm in the middle! Will definately be going back there again.[:D] Thanks Andy! Cant think of a better way to spend a Monday morning!

Glad you enjoyed yourself! Am sure there's even more bits of singletrack to find and string together - and also some sections of St Cuthberts Way to do.

Its always good to explore new stuff.
Are the Eildons worth a trip down from the 'Burg?

I would say so. Its a bit muddy at the bottom, but theres 3 hills, all with steep rocky descents. Great views too as the Borders are so bloomin' flat you can see for miiiiiiles! Great place to go with a crowd just to play and on either side of the trails, nice bouncy heather to fall off on to!![:D]
Edit; Andy has a load of photos on his flicker thingy from when him and Moray and Gary were up there if you want to see it.

I'd be up for a trip there sometime, especially for the steep rocky descents!0

Stuart - here's one of the rocky bits; there's others that I'd like to 'session' sometime:

Can be a bit of a push to get to the top, though:

Looks fun - I love rocky stuff like that!
Yep - got the kittens on sunday - they are cool! [:)] Will probably get some photos of them on flickr tonight. Just been home for lunch to visit them [:I] Trying to get them to climb the curtains but so far they can only get a few feet up!0 -
Aww, bless!
Sorry, did I understand correctly there - you are intentionally trying to get them to climb the curtains..?! Teach 'em while they're young..!

Yes you understand correctly! The curtains were cheap anyway, and it's funny!0

I remember that climb. That was the one where the two of us riding flats managed to cycle further up than the two mountain goats using spds [:D][;)]
And who's that stranger in the first pic?

...you're not at all concerned that they'll grow up thinking that it's okay to climb, rip and shred the curtains - even the more expensive ones you'll in time replace the cheap ones with..?
Sounds like you're being just as paternal and gooey with them as I was, sorry, still am!

I don't plan to ever buy expensive curtains! (Not that I bought the current ones but I've been informed that they were cheap!)
If however they try and climb up my car to sit beside the nice hot bonnet scoop [}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)]0 -
Cat's love lying on cars, especially when the surface is warm!

Tell me about it. By the looks of the scratches, my neighbour's cats seem to love sitting on my bonnet/air scoop.
You'll need to get the trained to respect the scooby, Stu.

Cat's claws aint that sharp or hard, Hamish!
A more likely explanation would be you putting your foot down and the turbocharger sucking up loose gravel from the road surface! [8D]
